OJAI DAY - OCTOBER 21 - LIBBY PARK
  
Ojai Day in Libby is a major community event attend by several thousand people. It was a great success and provided an opportunity for the public to see amateur radio in action. OVARC commenced operation on HF and VHF bands at 10 AM. HF operations included a deep cycle battery, solar panel, a Kenwood 440 HF transceiver, LDG Z-11 antenna tuner, and Buddipole dipole antenna up 20 feet. HF propagation's were passable. Many JOTA Boy Scout jamboree stations were heard, along with W1AW on 20-meters. The OVARC booth was visited by many prospective hams along with the curious and interested public. Wayne W6OEU, Tim K6CTS, and Chuck N7BFO operated the OVARC booth.
