Opening The Net
QST, QST, QST. This is your name and call sign>, Net Control for the Ventura County Auxiliary Communications Service and the Ventura County Amateur Radio Emergency Service net. Is there any emergency or priority traffic on frequency? (Please come now)
We are a group of Amateur Radio Operators, known as the Ventura County Auxiliary Communications Service, and we provide emergency and public service communications for the County and various civic groups. In addition to the many activities throughout the year, we also hold a weekly net each Tuesday evening at 7:30 on the primary repeater station, WA6ZTT. This net is also linked to the SMRA 224.02 repeater and the SMRA 447.32 repeater. If any problems make the primary repeater unusable, then go to the output frequency 146.88 MHZ. in simplex mode as a backup. If that is unusable, then please switch to the County simplex frequency, 147.57 MHZ. As we proceed, if there is any priority or emergency traffic that needs this repeater at any time, just call net control, and we’ll respond accordingly. This net will now continue as a directed net.
When checking in to this net, please give your call, city, and any traffic you may have. I will poll the County leadership, the 8 areas of the County, followed by six meters, digital, visitor, late, and missed checkins. After that, I’ll call for Formal Traffic, announcements, and other business of the net. If you have traffic or announcements for the net, please also give a 1 or 2 word subject when you list your traffic.
Roll Call will now begin:
